Program of Study

The AG-ACNP Certificate program requires a minimum of 19 credits. The average completion time for this program is five semesters.

A gap analysis will be completed using each applicant鈥檚 previous MSN transcript and the current AG-ACNP curriculum. The courses not yet completed will become the program of study. See the Degree Requirements section below to view the minimum course requirements.

Licensure and Accreditation

Registered nurses who complete this advanced degree coursework and clinical education are qualified to sit for the national exams to become certified in Adult Gerontology 鈥� Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP-BC).

Dr. Donna Proulx, Ph.D., RN, CCRN, CSC, the Program Director for Graduate & Doctoral Nursing Education, is working to advance substance use disorders treatment for vulnerable populations. Her doctoral research was a qualitative inquiry titled 鈥淭he Lived Experience of Postpartum Women Attending Outpatient Substance-Abuse Treatment for Opioid or Heroin Use.鈥� She holds two certifications in critical care from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN)鈥攐ne in adult critical care (CCRN) and a second in adult cardiac surgery (CSC)鈥攁nd is a past president of the New Hampshire Chapter of AACN.
